Press Release

Van Ward Allotments, situated in Castle Park, Caerphilly is a vibrant community space bringing together around 100 members from the local area. These allotments serve as a hub for community engagement, allowing residents to connect through a shared love of gardening and sustainable living.

Recently, the allotments faced a challenge with an off-grid system that was installed but failed to operate correctly. Recognising the importance of this community resource, Nuvolt stepped in to help. In a generous gesture, Nuvolt commissioned the system free of charge, ensuring it became fully operational. This act of support not only resolved the technical issues but also reinforced the spirit of community.

The solar panels installed at the allotments are now powering their “totally green” wellbeing room. This room offers phone charging points and cooking facilities, making it a convenient and eco-friendly space for members. During the winter months, it will also act as a warm hub, providing a comfortable and warm place

for the community to gather.

“Without electricity we don’t have water, without water our crops would fail. Without electricity

we are unable to effectively use our wellbeing room. Nuvolt has saved our projects this year.”

“We now have unlimited access to our water and free electricity that is allowing us to access

the Hive and all of its facilities, such as the fridge, microwave and kettle.”

“I’d like to thank Nuvolt for all their incredible work and knowledge that’s allowed
us to become a greener and more sustainable community.”

Tracey Davies, Chair of Van Ward Allotments

"We are delighted to support the Caerphilly Allotments. As a local resident, I see firsthand the positive impact this space has on our community. By ensuring the off-grid system is fully operational, we hope to enhance the allotments' role as a vital community hub and promote sustainable living practices."
