  • Electrician (Solar PV)

    Head Office Location: Cardiff, South Wales, United Kingdom


    Rate: £15.00 - £21.84 depending on experience 


    Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (Monday to Friday)


    Hours: 40 Hours / Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 / Friday 08:00 – 16:00 



    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a qualified, skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our dynamic team at Nuvolt. This full-time position involves a hands-on role in the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Panel placement will be carried out by a roofing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including ac cabling, containment and distribution boards.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Installation of AC systems, containment systems.

    • Performing cabling and electrical connections for installations.

    • Ensuring adherence to safety standards.

    • Demonstrating good timekeeping and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

    • Managing a small team, providing leadership and guidance.

    • Problem-solving on-site challenges and ensuring project completion to the highest standards.

    • Maintaining effective communication with clients and team members.

    • Reading and interpreting drawings or technical diagrams related to AC and PV installations.


    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in AC installation.

    • Effective communication skills.

    • Ability to lead and manage a small team.

    • Good client liaison skills.

    • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

    • Capability to read and understand technical drawings or diagrams.

    • Full, clean driving license.

    • Valid CSCS/ECS Card.


    Qualifications:

    • Completion of modern apprenticeship to level 3

    • 18th Edition Wiring Regs

    • 2391 Inspection & Testing(Preferred)


    Desirable Experience/Qualifications:

    • Experience of installation of Photovoltaic Systems

    • SSSTS/SMSTS

    • We can provide training where necessary.

    •  Competitive rates of pay based upon skills and experience and will be discussed at interview.


    A key aspect of this role is the ability to work away from home as required.

  • Technical Manager (Renewables)

    Job Description:

    Nuvolt Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Manager to lead the design and technical aspects of our renewable energy solutions, including solar PV systems, battery storage and EV charging solutions. A key aspect of the role will be collaborating with key clients to design bespoke, tailored-fit solutions that meet their renewable energy requirements. This role involves overseeing technical designs, managing National Grid applications and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy system design, electrical design, cable sizing and be proficient in design software such as SolarEdge, PV Sol, PV Syst, CAD and Amtech.



    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop innovative and efficient solar PV, battery storage and EV charging solutions for commercial, industrial and client residential.

    • Create detailed system designs, layouts and schematics using design tools such as SolarEdge, PV Sol, PV Syst, CAD and Amtech.

    • Perform electrical design calculations and cable sizing to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with safety standards.

    • Work closely with key clients to understand their unique needs and design bespoke, tailored-fit renewable energy solutions that align with their goals.

    • Provide technical expertise and recommendations during client consultations to deliver the best possible solutions.

    • Lead and manage the technical aspects of projects, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and regulatory standards.

    • Prepare and manage applications for National Grid connections, including grid capacity studies and liaising with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).

    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required documentation.

    • Ensure all designs meet industry standards and comply with relevant regulations, including MCS and G99 standards.

    • Oversee technical audits and quality assurance processes.

    • Work closely with estimators, project managers, operations staff and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.

    • Provide training and mentoring to junior team members on technical aspects and software use.

    • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry developments.

    • Identify opportunities for process and design improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.


    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Degree or equivalent qualification in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    • Proven experience in designing and delivering solar PV, battery storage and EV charging solutions.

    • Familiarity with National Grid application processes and grid regulations.

    • Experience in electrical design and cable sizing, including the use of Amtech software.

    • Proficiency in SolarEdge, PV Sol, PV Syst, CAD and Amtech software.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    • Strong understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and understand their requirements.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
